Noah's little face is always the last element Veronique Pozner views before she would go to sleep.

Family Feud Over Trust for Sandy Hook Victim

Noah's little face is always the last element Veronique Pozner views before she goes to sleep.
"You know he always utilized to cuddle between us during intercourse when he had a nightmare, which means this blanket just keeps him alive," Pozner recalled.
It's often a struggle to get through the day knowing she'll never watch him mature; never give him another hug; by no means see him with his twin sister, Arielle, once again. Pozner says it's the thoughtful gifts from entire stranger that make the day a little easier.
"They couldn't offer us what they wished to give us, which was our little boy back. So that they gave us what they could," Pozner said.
In the months since Noah was initially killed inside Sandy Hook Elementary College, Pozner and her spouse, Lenny, say they've lastly found their voice once again after spending months in a fog of grief and sadness. Yet, they will have now found themselves amid what Veronique calls another tragedy.
Alexis Haller
"We're looking to state what's rightfully ours," she stated.
Days after the shooting, Pozner's brother, Alexis Haller, reached out to his sister from his house in Seattle, offering to create a have faith in for Noah's four surviving siblings age groups 6, 9, 18 and 19 years old. At a time of immeasurable grief, Pozner claims she was happy to have his help.
"It was fairly soon involved with it, maybe two or three 3 days that I started having issues about things that were going on the subject of," Pozner remembered.
Pozner says she found out all the mementos, letters and items from complete strangers weren't arriving at her.
"They thing that was causing me the most pain was the fact that there was a postoffice box in San Francisco, in addition to a UPS package in Newtown. Everything was being sent to the P.O. boxes and packed and delivered to Washington point out, sight unseen by anybody. We had to hire a lawyer to get that material back again," Pozner said.
She says what they acquired months later were dozens of opened letters and gifts which were not within their original condition.
"The fact that correspondence like that went to eyes apart from us, as Noah's families, is unconscionable to me. The truth that someone would open and examine those letters, or maybe discard a number of them...I'll never know if I got everything again," she said.
Haller, though, says all correspondence were forwarded back to his sister and that she was initially aware he had opened many cards to check on for donations.
Today, Pozner is fighting to regain control of Noah's confidence. She says Haller, a lawyer himself, appointed himself trustee when he started it. He's got since refused to turn control over to the two people Pozner and her husband want named as trustees.
"We feel there should be two trustees. That's the method that you find that checks and balances. He names himself the only person," said Pozner.
Haller released a affirmation to NBC Connecticut saying in part, "Within my sister's behest, I decided to provide as trustee for a have confidence in set up to advantage Noah's four surviving siblings and helped raise cash for that trust. In a nutshell, I devoted hundreds of hours to doing whatever I could, as best I could. Recently, my sister and her 2nd husband have been pushing me to appoint their personal buddies as trustees for the faith...However my sister's private two adult children, that are trust beneficiaries, do not agree with the appointment of the individuals as trustees." He continues on to say, "to resolve this sad conflict, but without abandoning my fiduciary obligations as trustee to all the surviving siblings, I have proposed a variety of reasonable alternatives, including ending up in a judge to find a solution, transferring the trust to a professional trustee, and splitting the have faith in among Noah's four surviving siblings. My sister and her partner have rejected most of these options."
As a result of dispute, Haller states none of the money has gone to the children. All the donations received are relaxing in the accounts untouched, he said.
"I don't have any reason to trust any funds are going to be misappropriated. I believe what we are searching for is for us to obtain ownership back, empowerment back. This was our report, he was our son," Pozner maintained.
A lot more infuriating for Pozner has been Haller talking about Noah in a TV history that aired in Seattle on the main one month anniversary of Noah's murder.
"They essentially didn't know Noah very well at all. They didn't know very well what he likes, what he didn't like plus they started speaking to that immediately," she said.
Haller says that Pozner questioned that he stopped speaking on her behalf, he has abided by her wishes, but says he will continue to share his applying for grants the shooting and issues like gun control.
Haller and Pozner's mother as well issues a declaration to the Troubleshooters assisting her son's actions saying she actually is "deeply saddened by her daughter's accusations." Pozner's oldest son, Michael, also released a declaration supporting his uncle's actions.
"We are the families and we're the guardians and I'm still looking after my children," Pozner responded.
Pozner states Haller's repeated refusals to abide by her requests have added in another layer of pain to a tragedy she admits she'll never overcome.
"I'd like him to honor what we have been asking, what we are in need of," Pozner said.
It's a mother's plea for handle of her son's memory.
"This is our story and in my opinion they should thank God every day that this is not their story," she said.
